Zarah KhondokerDecember 18, 20256 min readA long wait is not the same as nothing happening. Ask to be added to the cancellation list, and ask how the list actually works. Some are called in order, others are first to answer the phone.
Ask whether another clinician in the same practice has earlier availability. For a first evaluation, that is often an acceptable trade.
Use the interval to log symptoms by date rather than by memory. Three months of dated entries is genuinely useful clinical information, and it is the one thing only you can produce.
Confirm the appointment two weeks out. A surprising share of long waits end in a visit that quietly fell off a calendar.
